Logan is a 17-year-old boy with Muscular Dystrophy. Logan has had multiple spinal infusions and his disease has caused a great disruption to his quality of life. Logan has required a lot of medical treatment in his 17 years of life. Multiple hospitalizations, doctors’ appointments with multiple providers. Logan’s pain has become a major issue and he has found very little that gives him relief. Logan’s mother told me yesterday that they have been wanting to do genetic testing on Logan to further aid them in the treatment of his MD, which was not fully covered by insurance. With the grant they can now have that testing done. In addition, Logan is a very intelligent young man, (his IQ score is 158) despite his overwhelming health issues and has already been accepted at CU! He was truly an amazing kid and his mother was so grateful for the grant.
